Project competition in open procedure | 2022 | Customer: City of Zürich

The proposed new building aims to blend seamlessly into both the cityscape and the relaxed market environment. In terms of its architectural design, it seeks to engage with the Maillard Pavilion, a prominent feature on the site, without trying to outshine or mimic it. The appearance of the kiosk building is meant to adapt to the changing seasons and operational needs. It will be a dynamic structure, evolving in its form, function, and materials. Even during the winter months when it's not in use, it won't appear as a lifeless and unattractive building. Similar to how a Primula Veris flower blooms in the spring, the festival tent will come to life after the winter season. Its distinctive red wooden facade and checkered windows will invite visitors to enjoy its festive atmosphere.
